Whenever I get the chance to go on a trip, I always include the beach in my itinerary. Though this time, the highlight of this trip is our staycation in Sundowners Vacation Villas in Bolinao, Pangasinan.
Anyway, before discovering Sundowners Vacation Villas, I only wanted to go to Pangasinan because of Hundred Islands. Which I didn’t even know where in Pangasinan.
Originally, our itinerary for this trip is Manila – Bolinao – Alaminos – Lingayen – Dagupan – Calasiao. I’m not even sure if it is possible for the long weekend! Haha. I just listed the places that I want to visit, and maybe visit the must-visit places for at least 30 minutes. I’ve always wanted to have that kind of roadtrip.
To cut the long story short, the only town that we visited is Bolinao.
It was Friday when we hit the road. I was so excited the night before. I ended up sleeping at around 11 PM, and needed to wake up at 2! Lol. Good job, Karen!
Nonetheless, I still have lots of energy! This is my most-awaited trip!
6:00 AM – Breakfast at McDo
Believe it or not, we just kept on driving until we find McDo! Imagine how hungry we were. Lol. It’s tough when I need to satisfy my cravings (cheesy eggdesal + hash browns + coffee).
I have bad news though. I can’t eat potatoes in the morning, especially on an empty stomach. So, I had an acid reflux during this trip. It sucks.
9:00 AM – Sundowners Vacation Villas
We arrived 5 hours before we can check-in. I was really, really, really excited! I cannot believe that I’m finally in Sundowners!
As soon as we get there, I checked out the place and I can’t get over the fact that I’m finally there. Lol.
Since we have soooo much time, we headed to Enchanted Cave first.
10:00 AM – Enchanted Cave
Just 20-30 minutes from Sundowners, it is actually easy to get here. We purely depended on Waze; good thing the internet wasn’t so bad in Bolinao.
When we arrived there, there were only few cars that are parked. This is where you can park your cars. It has a fee of Php30.
The entrance fee is Php150 per person since we did not plan to swim. I think there is an additional fee if you are going to swim. Enchanted Cave is one of the most must-see places in Bolinao, Pangasinan. Our tourist guide mentioned that the enchanted cave was underwater for millions of years, thus the coral remains.
11:00 AM – Patar Rock Formation
Just a few minutes away from Enchanted Cave, we spotted the infamous Patar Rock Formation. The pictures can’t describe its beauty but geez, I’m so glad I was there! It literally took my breathe away.
11:30 – Cape Bolinao Lighthouse
We went straight to Cape Bolinao Lighthouse. I only had a glimpse of it, but I’ve decided to leave because I’m not feeling well. So, I wasn’t able to take a photo.
11:45 AM – Giant Taklobo Resto Grill
Aaaaand, of course, time for lunch!
Giant Taklobo Resto Grill is a seafood restaurant. I haven’t heard of it, but when I checked, this restaurant has great reviews. The rates here are affordable, and the ambiance is relaxed.
1:00 PM – Sundowners Vacation Villas

And that sums up my birthday getaway in Bolinao, Pangasinan. It’s sad that we were not able to visit the other must-see places because I wasn’t feeling well. Nonetheless, I enjoyed my birthday getaway!
